I accidently started a new quilt.

Bonnie Hunter at Quiltville has a super fun idea going on for her "leaders and enders" project for this year.  It is the rail fence quilt!  I have made several, using up strings and scraps.  Above it the same kinds of thing, but with the center strips a color, and lots of neutrals for the other strips. I think another name of this may be Basket Weave strings, yes??
Here is a string rail fence quilt I made and hand quilted.  It is a super heavy quilt, because I pieced the strings on muslin!
A little closer view.  All the strings are just that...strings. None cut to a specific width.
Rosie is now modeling for you, for you to get the full effect of this quilt.  She says she likes this one!!

I have made several rail fence quilts and given them away to patients...so here goes one more, as it is a fun and fast pattern!!

Hope each of you is having a super day!!

I think I'm accidentally starting new projects all the time. I do need to make some rail fence blocks, for an exchange. Our center has to be muslin, so that we can sign the blocks.

Ooh, neutral rail fence blocks would satisfy both the RSC color for August and Bonnie's L/E challenge!!

Nice! Have fun playing with your strings as you make these blocks.

That's hysterical. Don't see how you can accidentally start a quilt! but I like your project!!

I love accidental quilts because they are, for most of them, made of scraps. I ♥ scraps! Your new quilt is no exception to the rule; scrappy pink and neutral. It's already beautiful. Enjoy. ;^) Rosie is such a great model. She can strike a pose in a flash. Love you, Rosie Girl. ♥♥

I'll bet those strings just accidentally fell into place by your sewing machine and jumped up under the needle when you pressed the pedal. And then what can you do but sew the quilt, right?? :)

Love the new start! You'll have a great time with it.
I have a question about your strings...you pieced them on muslin for the one you mentioned. Do you always you something with them? Like paper or muslin? Just curious :-)

I've accidentally started a quilt or two (or more...) in my time. Perfectly normal! 8)

Sweet! Is the new quilt actually strings? Or a specific width strip?
