Blocks and more blocks...

Hi all! Have you seen the above pattern? The pattern is called "Vicksburg", by Bonnie blue Quilts. I love this line of patterns! I was strolling through our local quilt shop, and one of the workers said she was doing a Block of the month, with two blocks each month, and would I like to do it? $10.00/month...I signed up!! So, I got the first installment of fabric and pattern, and found enough fabric to make not two blocks, but four, and I could probably have gotten six blocks out of it. So I have leftovers! Maybe two quilts?? And fabric for a scrappy border...

I like this block best, so far. This will be fun to look forward to each month.
And this little pile of 8 inch string blocks (32 in all) represents lots of time...but the string tub is still full! What to do...just keep on sewin'!!
Have a wonderful day!!
Julie

Vicksburg never looks so delightful until now my friend! Ohhh la la. Now look at all those happy strings, too. Do you know I've yet to make a string? Hmmm... Something to think about.

Oh my!! I truly love that new BOM that you are doing! I am always looking for something new to use my stash of Civil War prints! I think I may have to find that pattern....

Love those string blocks. Do you have any plans on how you will put that string quilt together? I have never made a string quilt, but I do have a tub of strings! Just haven't got to them yet!

Love the colours in your BOM, and how brilliant to get 2 blocks out of one set of fabric.

Julie, unless I somehow missed it, I'm wondering -- how big are those Vicksburg civil war fabric blocks? I love the layout of that quilt.

Sounds like you and Karen had a nice visit in Florida!

It's amazing how far those strings go isn't it?

The blocks are pretty -- how nice that you had enough fabric for additional blocks -- sometimes they can really skimp on fabric in kits and BOM.

Puffins and purples!!

I was tempted by Puffins...a squirrelly breed!!  LOL!  This fabric was shared with me, and I have been loved these bright, candy corn colors...
